BBC News Resources Graphic Design
BIG Training Application
One of a series of interactive training and HRM solutions delivered for the BBC between 1997-2001, the 'BIG' CD stands for Broadcast Information Graphics. This application introduced key design practices, processes, and technologies to aspiring young designers as part of the BBC's design training program. It was deployed on dedicated workstations in BBC Learning Zones across the UK.
Designed & developed whilst at Channel A, I led the team for this Lingo/Director driven application, working closely with the BBC News Resources design department. The application is object-oriented, data-driven, with complex user-tracking and scoring mechanisms. The Information arc was developed in Visio, directly populating XML.
